As with all our tours, with the assistance of your tour guide there are plenty of opportunities to discover the real India by meeting and eating with local people.
Day 1: Delhi
Welcome to Delhi, the nation’s capital, a vibrant city with an unbelievable amount of history! Your tour guide will meet you at the airport and then you will transfer to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time and how tired you are, the tour guide will plan the rest of the day with you accordingly, which could include some sightseeing, plus a welcome dinner.
Day 2: Delhi / Overnight Train
Today you can do any of the city tours or slum tours which we do. We suggest in the morning visiting Sanjay Colony, a small slum built on 25 acres of land located in the south of Delhi near the Bahai Lotus Temple and Iskcon temple. Learn about the working and residential life and witness how despite the challenging living conditions, it remains an area charged with positive energy and strong community. You will also learn about the NGO programs directly supported by your visit.
In the afternoon we suggest doing some more traditional sightseeing of your choice such as visiting India Gate, Qutub Minar. Humayun’s tomb, Agrasen ki Baoli and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib – a Sikh temple and one of the largest community kitchens in India which feeds more than 10,000 people per day. In the night, we will hop on to an overnight train to Bikaner!
Day 3: Bikaner
We will have an early morning arrival in Bikaner, an old city popular for its forts, palaces, temples and food, and then transfer to the hotel. After lunch, we will do an orientation tour in Bikaner including Junagarh Fort.
Day 4: Bikaner / Jaisalmer
Today we have an early morning drive to Jaisalmer (6 hrs), a small fort-city in the middle of the Thar Desert, nicknamed the “Golden City”. On arrival, you will check in at the guest house and head for an evening camel safari with dinner in the Thar Desert.
Day 5: Jaisalmer
The next morning, we will head back to the guest house and then have an afternoon tour of the stunning Jaisalmer Fort and markets.
Day 6: Jaisalmer / Jodhpur
Today we will take an afternoon train to Jodhpur, the “Blue City” and one of the oldest cities of Rajasthan. We will reach Jodhpur by late evening and stay in a 400 years old Haveli (traditional townhouse) which has been converted into a Guest house. You can enjoy a traditional Rajasthani Thali (vegetarian set meal with many different dishes) for dinner on a rooftop restaurant with the imposing Mehrangarh Fort in the background.

In the evening, you can go for a walk among the busy markets if you have the energy!
