This is reality for 100,000 people living on the remote island of La Gonâve, Haiti.
Because of the separation from mainland Haiti, access to healthcare, both routine and specialty, can be extremely limited. Although For You Haiti works collaboratively with the talented and devoted doctors and healthcare professionals on La Gonâve, the medical needs are overwhelming and the island’s resources are scarce. Food and water supplies can be unreliable and most residents lack access to basic healthcare and education. Half of children under the age of five are at risk for malnutrition, and many have never been seen by a doctor.
Our Impact
- Child Sponsorship Outreach delivers meds to remote communities and provides home visits 7 days a week.
- Fund a 100% Haitian run school of 425 students providing education, food and clean water.
- Special Needs Classroom
- Provided care for over 244 expecting women with access to healthcare, prenatal exams, food and vitamin supplements.
- 610 Surgeries were provided.
- 182 Sponsored children monthly.
- 21 Haitian employees
- 2,000 Patients cared for annually.
